A dupioni silk in a Fleur floral print creates a simply stunning Civil War reenacting gown. Olive and dusty raspberry pink printed fabric with copper undertones combine together....feminine and elegant.... fashioned into a gown that will simply have guests taking a second look. An extraordinary fabric that transforms a pattern from the 1800's into a magnificent Civil War gown.
The bodice has short sleeves that may be worn slightly off the shoulder or adjusted to your preference. Raspberry gimp braid adorns each sleeve and the neckline. Pink panels drape across the bodice with hand dyed and embroidered organza flowers at the waistline. The bodice closes in the back with hook and eyes and is lined in cotton muslin.
The bottom of the skirt is contrasting pink with scallops inserts of silk. The skirt is heavily embellished with yards of ivory lace and scalloped silk fringe trim. The full skirt is shown over a petticoat with a six boned hoop to bring extra fullness to the gown. The skirt closes in the back with a hook and eyes.
The unique quality of this fabric has made it very difficult to photograph. In the natural light the olive stands out and in the evening the coppery rose hue is dominant. The fabric photographs predominately with the copper hue. I have included photo's with the flash and without the flash to present the truest shade of the fabric. Although the copper is seen in the photos the dominant shade is the olive hue with coppery rose undertones. The pink Fleur stand out nicely in the pattern. A amazing combination of textures and shades!
