A Civil War ball gown that has grace and elegance. A romantic gown with a stunning presence. The bodice sits slightly off the shoulder and is accented by lace, silks and trims. Silk trim fabric stands out against fabric and becomes narrow as it curves to the waistline . . It is especially becoming with the contrast of fabrics and textures. Suggested fabrics are silk, satin, dupioni silk, organza and moire.
I use authentic patterns, duplicates from different era's. I also design my own. As of this date my work has been used in plays abroad, musical productions and reenacting. There is no compromise on authenticity and construction. Only the highest quality fabrics are used. Each Civil War era gown is sewn carefully and finished as if it were a wedding dress. My goal is that each item reflects it's individuality with great craftsmanship...nothing rushed...details however small that captures someones eye and turns their head to admire.
Upon completion of the transaction you will receive a detailed measurement chart via email. I suggest that an experienced seamstress assist with your measurements. As soon as I receive your measurements a mock bodice will be made and mailed to you to try on. Any necessary adjustments may be made on the mock bodice when it is fitted to you. Upon returning the bodice to me I will then note any changes and use the bodice as your pattern for your gown. When final measurements are approved by you, your gown will begin being construction. Due to the detail in this design it will need five weeks to be completed. It will be shipped priority mail with insurance and delivery confirmation.
Reenacting gowns are sewn on a first come basis. On rare occasions your gown may require additional time to be completed. Fabric choice may vary due to availability. Warm Regards, Mary
